TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Introduction
Thank you for registering for the NACO Summit 2024 (the “Summit”), hosted by the National Angel Capital Organization (“NACO”). Regardless of whether your registration is submitted by you or your proxy, the following Terms and Conditions (“Summit Terms”) apply to you and your participation in any NACO event, both in-person and virtual. “Attendee” for purposes of these Summit Terms will include all participants at the Summit, including sponsors, partners, and attendees. By participating in this Summit, you agree to these Summit Terms so please read them carefully. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].
These Terms include and incorporate NACO's Privacy Policy. Please refer to this privacy policy for more information about the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information.
This Summit is organized by NACO, which reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to limit or deny access to any entity or individual to the Summit.
Registration Information
Summit Communications:
By applying to attend or completing a NACO Summit 2024 registration, you consent to receive communications from NACO in respect of Summit information, events, and activities. You further consent to receive and send personal messages and/or video call invitations.
Cancellation/Refunds:
There is no refund for canceling your registration to the Summit. Substitutions are permitted.
For Substitutions: If you are unable to attend the Summit, you may send someone in your place. Substitutions may be made at least seven (7) days prior to the event, with written confirmation from the person registered.
Payment Processing Fees:
A payment processing fee of up to 4.0% will be applied to the cost of the ticket. This fee covers the cost associated with processing payments and is necessary to facilitate secure transactions. The fee is calculated based on the total cost of the ticket and is added to the final amount charged.
INFORMATION PUBLICATION
Only persons authorized by NACO may make audio/video recordings at the Summit. Third-party recordings are prohibited.
You grant NACO, its representatives, employees, contractors, and agents (collectively, “Authorized Persons”), the right (without obligation) to record audio and video, take photographs, and make screenshots and recordings of virtual participation, in the course of the Summit, which may include recordings of you (“Recording”). You grant the Authorized Persons the worldwide, perpetual right (without obligation) to make, record, edit, adapt, use, sell, and publish the Recordings, including your name, image, likeness, appearance, and voice, for any purpose. You hereby assign to NACO all right, title, and interest you may have (if any) in and to the Recording, and you hereby waive all moral rights therein, automatically upon creation of the Recording.
IMPORTANT SECURITY NOTICE: Please be aware that there has been a persistent scam affecting numerous events and organizations. Should you receive any solicitations falsely claiming to possess attendee lists for the Summit, we urge you to report them immediately to the Canadian Spam Reporting Centre at [email protected]. Additionally, please mark these emails as spam in your email service. NACO prioritizes the security and privacy of our members and attendees and is committed to taking proactive measures against such deceptive practices, as further detailed in our privacy policies.
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR THE SUMMIT
NACO believes in equality for all. As such, we are committed to creating event environments that are diverse, inclusive, safe, and free from discrimination, regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, age, disability, marital status, or any other classification protected by law.
We ask that all attendees, speakers, partners, sponsors, and other guests of the Summit behave respectfully. Harassment, discrimination, bullying, and other unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. If you are asked to stop or modify your behavior in accordance with these principles, you are expected to do so immediately and respectfully.
If you have a complaint or concern about harassment, discrimination, bullying, or any other conduct, we encourage you to tell event staff or security personnel immediately. You may request that your report remain confidential.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
EXCEPT WHERE SUCH EXCLUSIONS ARE PROHIBITED BY LAW, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE WILL NACO, OR ITS RESPECTIVE PARENT, SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES OR THEIR RESPECTIVE DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, CONTRACTORS, LICENSORS, LICENSEES, SUPPLIERS, OR SUCCESSORS BE LIABLE FOR NEGLIGENCE, GROSS NEGLIGENCE, NEGLIGENT MISREPRESENTATION, FUNDAMENTAL BREACH, DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, UNDER ANY LEGAL THEORY, INCLUDING ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PERSONAL INJURY, PAIN AND SUFFERING, EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, LOSS OF REVENUE, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF BUSINESS OR ANTICIPATED SAVINGS, LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF GOODWILL, LOSS OF DATA, AND WHETHER CAUSED BY TORT, BREACH OF CONTRACT, BREACH OF PRIVACY, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF THE PARTY WAS ALLEGEDLY ADVISED OR HAD REASON TO KNOW, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR ATTENDANCE AT THE CONFERENCE.
WITHOUT LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING, IN NO EVENT SHALL NACO’S AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THIS AGREEMENT, WHETHER ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO BREACH OF CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR OTHERWISE, EXCEED CAD $100.00.
THE FOREGOING LIMITATIONS SHALL APPLY EVEN IF YOUR REMEDIES UNDER THIS AGREEMENT FAIL OF THEIR ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.
